Welcome to the Oregon Beer & Wine Distributors Association
The Oregon Beer & Wine Distributors Association (OBWDA) is a full-service, professional trade association representing beer and wine distribution companies in Oregon.
Our primary mission is advocating on behalf of member companies in the legislative, regulatory, legal and public policy arenas. The OBWDA is a valuable resource to policy makers and the public on alcohol regulation, educational programs designed to combat underage drinking and drunk driving, and the many good-paying jobs we create.
OBWDA Mission Statement
The Oregon Beer & Wine Distributors Association (OBWDA) is a trade association that represents the public policy interests of local independent beer and wine distributors before the Oregon Legislature, county and city public policy makers, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, and the public. The purpose of OBWDA is to provide leadership in promoting the local independent beer and wine industry in Oregon by protecting Oregon’s three-tier system of alcohol distribution and trade practice laws. The three-tier system was put in place to promote moderate consumption, ensure a commercially level playing field, provide for effective tax collection, and preserve public safety by ensuring alcohol sales are made only to licensed retailers. Under this system, distributors efficiently track product through the chain of custody while providing Oregonians with a safe and unprecedented choice of products in the marketplace. OBWDA opposes marketplace advantages that limit equal access and adversely impact the consumers’ choice of products. OBWDA works to strengthen and protect Oregon’s alcohol regulatory code that facilitates an orderly, safe, and fair system, allowing for consumer choice and access to market for all.
